1 Shield, hammered designs, silver plated. |
Most Westerners interested in Central Asia have quite a bit of exposure to the jewelry of the region. The same beauty of design is also found in functional and ornamental metal work, such as cups, tea pots, vessels, containers, tools, farming implements, and, with its history of invasions and defense, the objects of war. Some are reproductions, but most are still made for functional use. Afghan Tribal Arts focuses on metal work that has vintage or antique value. However, contemporary pieces are also included in this diverse inventory.
